Welcome to The Voyaging Spoon! 🙂
This site was born a few years ago when I was wishing for a place to write down our keepsake adventures, crafts, recipes, and more. We’re homeschoolers who have a permanent sense of wanderlust and curiosity, and I hope to be able to share that with you here!
We’ve lived in many places over the past decade – New Hampshire, Vermont, Florida, South Dakota, and now Pennsylvania. I think we may eventually end up in Maine, but only time can tell! 😉
About the Spoon: The spoon featured on our site is a beautiful one we picked up at a little antique shop in Rapid City, South Dakota, found buried at the bottom of a rusty bin full of miscellaneous metal things. You know that feeling you get when you happen upon something that was meant to be yours? That’s what I felt at first sight. From what I’ve been able to glean from the Net, it’s a silver-plated fruit spoon made in 1908. I adore pretty antique things and love imagining how many hands held it before mine, how many tables and meals it has graced over the last century!
Please take a look around and comment/share at your leisure. If you haven’t already, please LIKE us on Facebook to keep up with our adventures! 🙂
